Jenn Shifflet's work is an exploration into the inner experience of time, the perception of space, memory, and reflections of the natural world. Rhythmic, atmospheric, and organic in nature, her paintings rest in the pause between movement and stillness, where time may unfold slowly through subtle interplays of color and shifting light. While embodying a symbolic relationship to the natural world, her paintings intend to remain ambivalent in their reference to a particular time, place, or relationship to gravity, allowing them to encourage contemplative experiences of personal recollection and familiarity.

Jenn Shifflet is a Bay Area Artist who has been an Affiliate Artist at Headlands Center for the Arts since 2004. Her work has been included in numerous exhibitions, such as “Winners Circle” at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, MD, “All in the Family” at Off the Preserve Gallery in Napa, CA, “National Scholastic Awards Exhibition” at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C, and “Smithsonian Resident Scholarship Awardees Show” at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History Rotunda Gallery.

She has won numerous awards including: The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts National Arts and Recognition Talent Search Honorable Mention, The Sovran Bank Award, The Smithsonian Museum Resident Associate Honors Award, The Washington Regional Gold Key Art Award, The National Scholastic Art Award, and The Headlands Center for the Arts Affiliate Award.
