Myths of the Andes
The traveler
Armed with dedicated and painstaking research
Embarks on a voyage to an ancient culture
Only to find that history (facts determined by those who wrote it)
And imperialist conquest
Have all but obliterated the reality of those past eras.
Looking through glasses scratched with cultural bias
But still open to experiencing the wonder of place
Which transcends all attempts to categorize, factualize, rationalize.
Outside but somehow still connected if she breathes deeply.
Peru.
