Don Guthrie - Oregon

Don Guthrie's altered books are best recognized by their strength of character. Outsider artist, poet and social critic, Guthrie's early training was in signpainting. His skill was in creating durable works that drive a message home. This is the third year that Guthrie has shown in our annual book show and he has emerged with works that are signature in style, masterful in craftsmanship and concise and clear as poetry in their message.

His altered books contain images that reflect the culture and his feelings about it. Guthrie showed at Susan Cummins Gallery in Mill Valley and has since moved to Oregon.
