Cathy DeForest

On Wings Of Song was written and illustrated by Cathy DeForest, a Northwest printmaker and book artist. Her five prose poems were inspired by a birds nest which fell out of her wisteria bush around the time her sons were going off to school. Cathy collaborated on the book design with Brenda Cornett using Caslon type and ornaments and Rives BFK paper. On Wings Of Song was letterpress printed in an edition of 100 on a Vandercook SP20 press at Serenity Press in Ashland, Oregon. Cathy hand paintedeach original image with watercolors and gouache.
