The Call of the Village, an artist book created by Cathy DeForest comprised of intaglio etchings and a prose poem written by Nancy Bardos and Cathy DeForest. The poem is an invitation to weave a village together to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The intaglio etchings of indigenous figures representing the Four Directions evoke the ancestral origins of the local and global village. Cathy designed and printed the book in an edition of 12 books at her new farmhouse studio, Jubilation Press, in Ashland, Oregon. (30.5x12x.5 inches)
