Casey Gardner
Specimen Book

Casey Gardner has a degree in printmaking and graphic design from the California College of the Arts. She is "interested in all forms and definitions of what a book is and what a book does". She has a letterpress Vendercook 4 and incorporates printmaking and letterpress into works that are engaging on all levels.

Specimen book is a humorous and insightful collection of letterpress on the left hand and lithographs on the right that either speak directly or form free associations to the text. At the bottom of the pages, texts refer to the forgotten nature of memory. (From the Special Collection of the library of fleeting imponderables.)
